Canal Fever and the growth of railroads led to the development of many industries including Hart Pottery. Ogdensburg's location on the St. Lawrence River and its nearness to the Northern Railroad gave access to markets in the west. Hart Pottery made salt-glazed stoneware that was used for food storage. #ogdensburghistory
