    You mention that the entrance to the vault was sealed in stone in 1906. However, I and several brothers entered it in the mid 1950s when there was no stone or door. About 10 feet in was the stone wall you mention that protected the coffins. On either side of the entrance were slabs for coffins but they were empty.

    1. Thanks! I love your site and use it all the time. My source is the Ogdensburg Journal. The coffins are apparently sealed behind the wall inside the entrance. (There was a lot of water damage and the coffins were in terrible shape.) I've never been in the vault so I don't know for sure. The empty slabs are where some of the coffins may have been prior to the repairs??? I'm wondering if vandals removed the stone that was put there in 1906?
