I found a couple of photos of the Surprise Store in my office the other day. These photos were taken prior to Urban Renewal in about 1971. The Surprise Mercantile Store located to 110-116 Ford Street in 1914 and was owned by the Dobisky Family for many years. Many people remember the pneumatic tubes that ran throughout the store where payments were received and receipts delivered. #ogdensburghistory

ReplyDeleteI found an old buttonhook with " the surprise" ogdensburg NY on one side an Qeeen Quality Shoes on the other. Was wondering if it was worth anything.
