I found this magnificent photograph in a plastic milk crate in my office. It appears to be a hand tinted photo of the Opera House, which stood where City Hall is today. Fire destroyed the building in 1926. There was no photographer's mark on the photo, but after posting it on Facebook, David Lesperance, said that his grandfather, Leo B. Lesperance of Lesperance Studio took it. He said the original used to be hanging on the wall at his grandparents. The Kodak camera he used is in the Kodak Museum in Rochester. #ogdensburghistory #operahouse
